Doing Good
Being sustainable is about more than just having less impact on the planet. It is also about having a positive impact on society. We try to ‘do good’ whenever possible; below are some examples.
Our sustainability journey
Since opening, we have been committed to reducing the environmental impact of dining at The Pig’s Head.
In partnership with Carbon Friendly Dining and Gift Trees, we previously invited our guests to offset their meals through tree planting. Thanks to this initiative, over 55,000 trees have been planted, each contributing to long-term carbon sequestration and supporting biodiversity.
As our approach to sustainability has evolved, we have transitioned to a broader and more flexible carbon strategy.
Carbon reduction & offset programme
We now support a range of independently verified carbon reduction and removal projects through Gold Standard and Verra-certified programmes.
These projects span both the UK and international communities, including reforestation, renewable energy, and environmental initiatives that deliver measurable climate impact.
Through a voluntary £1 contribution, guests can choose to support this programme, helping us to reduce and address the carbon footprint associated with their meal.
This approach allows us to back high-impact, rigorously verified projects while continuing to improve our own operations.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity
We choose not to profit from selling water. We installed a filtration system that also chills and sparkles water.
We charge tables £1.50 for bottomless still and sparkling water, and we donate this money to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
To date, we have donated over £21,000.
